The New Millenium's Gold  Medallion

A Proud  New Issuance from EOMA

In late 1998, one of our members asked the membership what it thought of the idea of minting a new Gold Coin for the Millenium.  The response was overwhelming, and Bill Roesch, one of our founders, decided to buy the gold and have a full one ounce gold coin minted that would be a credit to the Eastern Oregon Mining Association.  The gold was purchased locally and refined to 999 fine (24 karat), and sent to the Northwest Mint in Seattle, where the coin was minted.  The dies were cut, and the first of the coins reached us in December of that year.

They very much resemble our 1 ounce silver medallions, with of course, the major difference that they are made of 999 fine gold.  As you can see, they are beautiful coins, without blemish, and come in a flannel bag. Only 25 of these magnificent pieces were minted with the date "2000" on them, and that's all that ever will be minted.  They are truly remarkable coins and will certainly appreciate in value when the public gets to see them.

Eastern Oregon Mining Association is the sponsor for these coins, as for the Gold Beaver (please see our adjoining web page).

For the investor, serious collector or gift giver, it is difficult to beat this coin.  It will become a treasured keepsake, handed down generation to generation, becoming more valuable as  years go by.

As of the date of this publication Eastern Oregon Mining Association holds only 1 of these wonderful coins, and we intend to continue to hold it for our archives.  Unfortunately, 14 of these magnificent coins were lost in a fire and EOMA has none to offer.  We know of none that are available for sale, however, we can try to put interested purchasers in touch with current owners of the coins.  For more information, please write to:
